This wonderful series of landscapes came from my desire to replicate growing up swimming in "Dark Waters". Whether a lake in Alabama, the marsh at St Simon's or a Florida lake, there is something comforting about the darkness of these still waters. Not seeing the bottom can be a little scary, but also liberating.

I enjoyed unfolding this story onto canvas.
